Inspired by a white Christmas in London, this vibrant blue crisp winter morning sky and London blanket in snow makes one think of Christmas in the City with the old London route master double decker bus and the iconic landmark that is St Paul's cathedral.
This snowy London scene makes a great holiday card especially for people from London. We always hope for a white Christmas but it rarely happens.
About the Design for Iconic London
This painting was very exciting to create and it was one of my first paintings where I combined a variety of acrylic mediums. I began with an acrylic spray paint for the blue canvas then I used acrylic pens for the routemaster bus, acrylic based crayon pen to draw the Iconic St Paul's Cathedral and surrounding buildings and then I went over the white bits with acrylic paint. Everything flowed from one bit to the other while I created this and I believe the white is quite bold against the blue background and then we have the red burst of colour of the Iconic London bus pulling us in. This painting forms part of the London paintings that I have been inspired to create these past few years.
